The Lincoln Railsplitters dropped the first game of the series against Jackson, 5-4 on Monday afternoon. Lincoln was trailing 2-1 heading into the fifth. With two outs, Javian Davis ripped a double to right center. Ethan Rose crushed a laser beam about 27 feet up on the 30 foot right field fence, driving in Davis. Then Brian Jones destroyed a baseball sending it out over the center field fence for his first career HR.
Lincoln was in control until the bottom of the 7th inning when Jackson was able to tie the game. The teams battled into the 10th. Jackson, on a controversial call at home plate, was able to sneak in the game winning run to break the hearts of Splitter Nation.
