The weather was perfect for the Lincoln High School Varsity Baseball home opener against the Milan Big Red. Pitching dominated on this day with Dylan Thompson and Jackson Meyer combining for a shut out of Milan. Thompson was nearly unhittable. He yielded three soft singles while striking out eight and not walking anyone. Meyer gave up three hits and struck out two.
The game turned in the third inning when Cade RIckman was hit by a pitch with one out. Carson Kern reached on an error. With two on and one out, big Trevor Jones stepped to the plate and demolished a baseball to the right center gap for a triple. With two outs Kyjuan Rice would drive in Jones with a single.
The three runs were all the pitchers for Lincoln would need as they shut out the Big Red, 3-0.
