Splitters Lose: 4 - 5
The Lincoln Railsplitters dropped the first game of the series against Jackson, 5-4 on Monday afternoon. Lincoln was trailing 2-1 heading into the fifth. With two outs, Javian Davis ripped a double to right center. Ethan Rose crushed a laser beam about 27 feet up on the 30 foot right field fence, driving in Davis. Then Brian Jones destroyed a baseball sending it out over the center field fence for his first career HR.  Lincoln was in control until the bottom of the 7th inning when Jackson was able to tie the game. The teams battled into the 10th. Jackson, on a controversial call at home plate, was able to sneak in the game winning run to break the hearts of Splitter Nation.

With one out and runners on second and third, Skyline intentionally walked Rose to load the bases and pitch to Brian Jones. Jones, on a 1-1 count, smashed a bases clearing double to right center giving Lincoln an insurmountable 5-1 lead.  Jackson Meyer was the starting pitcher and earned the win, allowing 0 runs on 3 hits, striking out 2 in 3 IP. The Saline Hornets beat the Railsplitters in their SEC Crossover game, 3-0. Lincoln never really threatened in the game. In the fourth inning Javian Davis lead off with a sharp double, but Lincoln couldn't advance him.  Saline scored twice in the bottom of the first on pass balls and a wild pitch. That was all they needed.  Neither team really mounted any offense. Both squads only had 3 hits on the day. Thomas Cornette and Jackson Meyer combined for a very nice pitching performance for Lincoln.  Cornette was the player of the game only giving up 2 hits and striking out 2.

Splitters Lose: 0 - 12
The second game of the doubleheader was a resounding disappointment. Lincoln could not muster any offense against the Tecumseh pitcher, while Tecumesh has its way with Lincoln pitching.  Lincoln pitching yielded 12 runs on 7 hits, 4BB, and 2HBP. The defense behind the pitching faltered as well with four errors. It was a game to forget.  Sophomore Javian Davis, however, had a breakout performance in his fourth game as a Varsity baseball player going 2-3 with a double. He was named player of the game for Lincoln.

Splitters Lose: 1 - 2
Game one of the doubleheader against Tecumseh featured two of the top pitching prospects in the state of Michigan, Lincoln’s Jaylyn Bullock and Tecumseh’s Cameron Wagner. Neither disappointed in front of the dozen college scouts seated behind home plate.  Bullock pitched five innings giving up only two hits while striking out nine and walking nobody. The only run Tecumseh scored off him came in the bottom of the second inning with a Wagner lead off triple to the right center gap and and RBI single by Ty Rhodes.  In the top of the fourth Javian Davis lead off the inning with a sharp double to right off Wagner. With one out, Ethan Rose put the ball in play with two strikes and was able to plate Davis.  The game remained tied until the bottom of the sixth when Wagner and Rhodes manufactured the game winning run for the Indians.  Player of the Game: Jaylyn Bullock - 5IP/2H/1R/0BB/9K and a single.

Splitters Win: 3 - 0
Game two of the doubleheader against Milan went much the same way as game one. Lincoln’s pitching dominated from start to finish behind the masterful work of sophomores Javian Davis and Trevor Jones. They combined to strikeout 4 and give up only two hits.  The offense was powered by Ethan Rose’s two run homer in the top of the first. Davis got on base by getting plunked. With two outs, Rose took a two strike change up off his shoelaces to right center on a frozen rope. Those two runs were all Lincoln needed. In the fifth they would add an insurance run when Jaylyn Bullock singled in Kyjuan Rice.
