On a blustery day at Railsplitter Field, the Allen Park Jaguars and Railsplitters played what was supposed to be one 9 inning game. The Splitters ended this one early with a 17-2 victory in five innings.  

The Jaguars took a 2-0 lead in the 3rd on a walk and two doubles. 

With two outs in the bottom of the 4th and runners on second and third and trailing by 2, Nate Hoffman went with an outside pitch and dropped it into right field for a 2 RBI single. Kyjuan Rice singled and Javian Davis was hit by a pitch bringing Ethan Rose to the plate with the bases juiced and 2 outs. Rose got behind account and with two strikes smoked a double to the right center gap to clear the bases and broke the game open. Jackson Meyer singled in Rose, Carson Kern walked, Jion Thomas walked, and Miles Carter hit a nice 2 run single up the middle. Along with Dylan Thompson scoring on a wild pitch, the Splitters put up a total of 9 runs with two out and sent 14 men to the plate.

In the 5th the Railsplitters didn’t waste any time. Rice singled and stole 2nd and 3rd. Javian Davis was hit by the pitch. With runners on first and third, Rose hit a two strike 3R home run to right field. Dylan Thompson reached first on a swinging bunt. Meyer and Kern singled, and Thomas was hit by a pitch. With the bases loaded Carter hit a 2 run single. Thomas would eventually come around to score on an RBI by Keegan Wilkerson. Rose would finish the scoring by knocking in Carter.

The Railsplitters return to conference play on Monday when they host Ypsilanti Community High School for a doubleheader at 4 pm.
